Hi all, welcome to the role list of Camp Lamplight! There’s a few things to note before we get started. Early on when we organizers talked about what we wanted out of a LARP we said that we wanted a LARP without magic, without rituals, without a McGuffin. We just wanted community and intrigue. We quickly realised that this meant that organizer involvement in your roles would be high. The more we wrote, the more we realised it is a delicate balancing act and that full character freedom for all players just isn’t possible.
Therefore as you set about contacting us with your preferred role we request that you indicate how much character freedom you want. This way we can point you in the direction of roles where this is possible. Some very plot centric roles, such as the sheriff and the ambassador, will naturally involve a lot of organizer involvement.
Another key element here is secrecy. We cannot stress enough that we'd like you to keep as much of your roles as possible secret. If you are someone who has a hard time keeping secrets we recommend that you go for a role with little organizer involvement. This also means we would like as little role switching as possible once you’ve been given your full character details for a role with a lot of organizer involvement.
It is also possible to create your own character outside of those listed here if they find a natural fit within Camp Lamplight’s population.
